Fighting the good fight.

I know many of you have found yourself in the same or close to situation that I am in at the moment. There have been so many foreclosures taking place that it is pathetic. I fail to understand how a bank or mortgage company can be so heartless in the way they are handling this crisis.

There was a big mistake made with my mortgage when it came to figuring the real estate taxes that threw my escrow account in for a tizzy. I worked to straighten it out by using my good credit to send in a $5,000.00 check to try and get the escrow in balance. Just when I thought I was making some headway, all hell broke lose. Without getting too personal, cosigners were my problem and what they did to my credit.

I tried to get the lender to do a modification with the loan based on the new programs set up to keep people in their homes and I did receive a paper indicating along with the court foreclosure documents that one had been prepared. The only thing is, I never received any time trial period payment documents. It was, as if, I could not make the trial period payments and, therefore, follow up with a foreclosure. I never received the trial period payment information, not the loan number, the amount or anything else.

A modification of my mortgage based on my income was to be performed according to the new modification rules. Many have informed me that I qualify and if I send in a payment for, supposedly to be held in an escrow account, they will help me to get it. Been there, done that with the Hope Now Modification of New Jersey that turned out to be a rip-off. I have been to court and have been given a short period of time to wait on the process as to where a new modification was in the works, only to be told by telephone that a letter had been mailed to me indicating that they could not do the modification.  Have not received letter with explanation so far. Why?

If it were just me that was affected by this situation, I would take it upon myself to store all my belongings and stay with relatives for a while until I could save enough to find a more suitable and affordable home but it isn’t just me that is being hurt by the uncanny way this lender is handling the situation. My handicapped child  and grandchildren are being affected as well. I am still fighting the good fight. When I received a call advising me to only call this particular number, it got my dander up.
