A Canadian’s view of Mr. Obama.

We’re all a part of history in the making and to me its the greatest moment since man walked on the moon. A black man is elected to the highest position of public office in the U.S. and he got there due to votes cast by both black and white Americans. When I think back to the racial firestorms that raged throughout the south in the 60’s, the segregation, deprivation and brutality that black Americans have had to endure and compare it to what happened last night I can only pray that they have evolved to the point where this outstanding new President will not be cut down on a balcony or in the back of a limo somewhere. Some may argue that I’m old enough to remember Roosevelt and I say to them…”not quite” but I have read about the impact he had on America with his fireside chats. I have a feeling that Obama will be one of the great Presidents……now if we can only find his equal up here.
