Description of how to have patience and understanding with elderly people.
Have you ever been at a store check out line behind an elderly person counting out a bag full of change to pay for a gallon of milk? Were you one of those people rolling their eyes and sighing? You must not realize how frustrated or embarrased that elderly man or woman was. Think of how your life is now. Maybe you have a job, a family, house and car. Fast forward that 30 or more years from now, will your children be around, what about a spouse. Your vision may bother you by then or what if your body aches so bad you can’t walk? I have worked with the elderly for many years, so I have learned to understand them more. When you get older you lose a lot, sometimes it’s hard for them to except that things are not as they use to be. Thats why alot of seniors seem angry, they feel as if things have been taken from them that we younger people still have and take for granted.
I too was one of those people in line that rolled my eyes being frustrated with the cute little lady in front of me. Now I know that they just want their independence back so we should appreciate our and s and from time to time give a senior a hand because our days will come too, hopefully.
