If you don’t know you need to find out.

Day care for your kids can be great for them and you. Do you know how easy it is to get into the day care your kids go to? I have been to a day care where as soon as you walk in the door there is another door with a buzzer. You have to be buzzed in. You have to show ID and sign in before you can go back.

I have been to another where you can step in the office but need to show ID and sign in before going through a locked door to where the kids are. Stopping in at the day care to eat with your child is always a wonderful thing. You get to see if your child is safe and your child gets a wonderful surprise.

The most exclusive, hard to get your kids into day care is the worst of all. The one you have to sign up for as soon as you find out you are pregnant. A friend of mine found out her kid was going there. She had custody every other week. So we went to check it out. They did not ask for our IDs. We did not sign in. They didn’t even ask our names and took us to the infant area. It is one thing if they already know you. You should still need to sign in but not have to show ID.

I did say something before I left. Their excuse was they have cameras. As a mom I have to ask, “What good is a carma if someone came in to kidnap a baby or to harm them?” The camera will help to catch them but not stop it. It really is a scary thing to think about.

If you don’t know the answer you can always ask a friend or family member that has never been there to check it out. Ask them how easy was it to get into. Ask them if they had to show ID. You need to know the answers. It is hard enough being a parent. You don’t need to spend your day worrying about your kids safety when they should be safe.

I’m not a parent and have no children, but I do know that all day care centers are not equal.

My feelings on day care are that it should be illegal for kids under 1 year to be dumped in day care. In Canada, women are allowed a 1 year maturnity.. for crying out loud if you cannot afford to stay home with your kids DO NOT HAVE THEM..
My husband and I both made only minimum wage, we both worked part time and had it so one of us always stayed home with our daughter..
he died when she was 5 so at that point she had to go into day care for a month before school was to start.. than month changed her totally.

she got lice.. but worst of all she became scared of bugs when a child screamed about spiders.. prior to that she was never afraid of them and actually kinda liked them – now she is terrified..

the day care was not totally safe, and no replacement for good parenting.

I am sick every time people pump out kids with no intention of raising them themselves. there is no such thing as a couple not being able to afford to have one parent stay home and watch the kid (again we got ONLY minimum wage).

Yes, now days there should certainly be a level of protection for the kids before someone can enter.

This is really scary especially for parents who have no choice but to leave their babies in daycare.
