See and read how people treat our poor animals.
It all started during our social science class, our sir showed us a video clip sponsored and made by PETA. It was all about moving from eating meat to being vegetarian and why should we be vegetarians. The video clip showed different videos not only of one animal but several of them including chickens, cow and several more. It came to me on how our market treated our for once lovable creatures found on every farm.
Want to know what was in the video clip? I’ll tell what was in the video clip. The video clip at first showed and stated how brutal and devastating people treated animals used for poultry such as chickens. They first showed how they were transported, how they were placed in cages, how the non-fit would be treated and how would they be killed. Workers held chickens on there heads and threw them on large wooden boxes which were they’re houses for the rest of the trip, what’s brutal about it? I’ll state to you the brutal part, at first they throw them holding on the necks and lucky for the chicken who gets in quickly but for the poor ones who gets pounded repeatedly, it’s just merciless. They transport chickens and throw them like boxes not even imagining on how much pain the chickens are into, chickens whose bodies and legs are not capable of supporting they’re condition are being slammed by a metal rod until death. Now, where’s the justice in that? They slit the throats of the chicken while they are still conscious and if the chicken doesn’t die directly of the slitting of the throat then the chicken would still suffer getting boiled and unfeathered while conscious. Try imagining yourself in such pain.
Cows and pigs are treated more viciously in the other hand. The cow’s horns are decapitated and they’re scrotum castrated without pain killers. They are placed in over crowded areas where disease is prone and cows can only move in minimal places thus there muscles deteriorate and leading to impalement. Most cows suffer from puss filled wounds and they are left to suffer until they’re merciless execution. Cows on the day of execution, they’re skins are removed from the body and they are stabbed and left to bleed for a span of time until they die. Now, imagine yourself under all that pain and being left bleeding until you die.
Pigs also suffer the same faith as to what cows suffer, the only difference is that pigs suffer more. Pigs after birth are castrated. there tails decapitated and there teeth pulled out. They’re taken away from there mother leaving the mother under great stress. Piglets are left to strive and live in over crowded areas, some whose bodies are not strong enough are either killed using a bolt gun shot on there heads or held from there feet are lifted and slammed head first on a concrete floor. Some workers make fun out of it, a part of the video clip showed a man slamming a concrete block over the head of a poor pig. During the day which they would be killed pigs are boiled conscious to burn any excess hair and then stabbed on the chest and left to bleed until death.
Now you know how I ended up being a vegetarian. If you continue to eat meat then you certainly support this kind of way of treatment. If you really care and if you are not selfish of your own personal pleasure then you would not hesitate of taking part of the action of being a vegetarian.
