Part of the Series called Remember the Sands of Time
A true life incident that took place on the 3rd of January 2011 while out with the family and it did leave me red faced and one poem richer. So here are the memoirs of that day on the beaches of Karekare, Auckland, New Zealand.
It is part of a series of thoughts and things that took place in those famous few hours of my life, that makes me look back and laugh at my adventure.
The Behind the scenes of the composition of The Rock and the Sea….
My Confession:
Well I have always been a happy wanderer in life but this one did take the cake and if my family had their way, my wandering days would certainly come to an end almost immediately. Well its simple, I gave enough of heartache and pain for nearly three hours while I perched myself up on a rock, whipped out a notebook to create vibrant images of relationships while looking at the lacy frills of that huge blue ball gown beat the hardened trail of the rock, leaving flowing ribbons on the edges while it fervently tossed the weeds out at the mortal race hidden with crabs to bite their toes.
Caught your attention??? Join me in my time ship as I transport you back into memory lane to tell you what exactly happened behind the scenes of The Rock and the Sea.
How It All Began:
Well, it was the third day of the New Year of 2011 in the land next to the beauty of heaven called New Zealand in a multi-racial township of Auckland. The family woke up to the hooting of the wise old owl telling the tale of the night and beckoned them to go to the beach for a swim.

So we worked fervently, made a couple of sandwiches, got my little monkey (I lovingly call my son that when he is in a god mood) ready, piled into our old ragged 1980’s jalopy, called the Happy Car, after saying a prayer or two that it didn’t let us down while we hit the dusty trail.
We actually decided that we would go to a beach near our place and sunbathe and swim out there as we didn’t trust our car but fate had other things in store for us. So off we went sitting quite hilariously in our young adult car aged twenty two years of age armed with PC speakers, an iPod, Transcend and how could we forget the good old faithful radio. Had to cater for all ages ranging from grandmums, to mum, uncles and toddlers you see.
