How Long Could You Stare at One Object?

Have you ever watched an object? How long can watch without interruption on the same subject? In my attempt which lasted about ninety seconds with a few minor distractions. At first I focused on my goal rather than the object, but found that really counts from some characteristics of the object that I have never seen before, simply because I have never been my eyes on it before. Ninety seconds later, however, returns quickly to the constant distraction of daily life and returns to specific characteristics of the object and see if there is a lesson to learn and yes, there were at least three.

The author of Hebrews speaks of the importance of fixing our eyes on Jesus. The word or the original sentence really means that we should not look elsewhere. So what happens when you deliberately look the eyes of Jesus?

The eyes are often described as windows to provide visual access to the activities of the other side, outside or inside. When we look at Jesus, two things happen. We first looked at the window and ignore the activities inside and on the other hand, we look at the window and start watching the activities going on.

Each time a message is transmitted is of great importance, eye contact is crucial. I remember when my children were young, I would say: “Look Dad” before I spoke to them. The eyes of most of the broadcast of a message from the mouth. That itself is cause for reflection.

When deliberate (Fix) looking at Jesus, we see that those who would not otherwise. Let me explain. The children of Israel were in desperate need of water and looked everywhere without success. We must remember that the stone was probably the only place not to look at while searching for water, soil or plants may be a good place to get water would be heaven, but not rock! Moses saw God and showed the rock, said to hit and left the water in abundance. Again, they are in search of food and finding none. There are fruit trees and vegetables on the ground. There are no animals to hunt. Who would have thought to look to the sky for food? When Moses saw God, he learns that there will be food first thing in the morning. For years later, the next day, and forty years, the food falls like manna from heaven. (see the story of the exodus of Israel from Egypt in Exodus 13 to 17)

I learn through this when my eyes fixed on Jesus, and nowhere else I’ll see what you have for me in the day. As demonstrated by the Israelites in the food and water is and how to cross a large body of water without a boat or a bridge and how to conquer a city, so it will show me what my next task and when is the following provision shall if be food, jobs, cars or anything else.

Only when our eyes are fixed on Jesus, we are really satisfied.
