How the world has changed. What it was, what it is and what will it be.
Now in early thirties, I still have certain vivid memories of my childhood days. I remember the games I played, the toys I had and most of all how I spent most of my vacation playing in the fields with my friends. today when i look at the children I feel sorry for them. They hardly even step out of their home on holidays. Thanks to PSPs and Computer Games, children today seemed to have glued themselves to the Hi-Tech Virtual World. My ten year old nephew is already insisting on having a PlayStation3

for his birthday and I am sure by the time it is Christmas, he’d be expecting add-ons and accessories for his PlayStation from Santa.
The end effect of this Virtual World is that children today have lost touch with the nature. Thy do not know the joy of having the breeze blow on your face when you ride your bicycle down the hill. Or what fun it is to jump into the pond from the fishing ramp. They miss out on the beauty of nature. I remember when I was a kid, my friends and I used to hike up a nearby hill and sit there all day and watch our town go about its daily business. It was the most beautiful sights, especially in the early summer mornings.
The other side of all this is that our children today are more techno savvy. Something that is becoming an essential way of this modern lifestyle. They probably know more about computers than you and I do.
Our children are advancing into the future at lightening speed… but at what cost.
