Fourth Tutorial on Visual Basic for Applications.

This is the fourth part of a series of Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Tutorials. Microsoft Excel 2007 will be used as the front-end (user interface) with Microsoft Access 2007 as the back-end (database). This tutorial is intended for audience with little or no background in Microsoft Visual Basic. Therefore, the step-by-step procedure will be outlined here and in the succeeding tutorials.

1. Create a spreadsheet which looks like the one below:

2. Open Microsoft Visual Basic and create a new UserForm.

3. Insert a new label and rename it as QUOTE OF THE DAY. Use the ForeColor option to pick a color from the Color Palette and change the font color.

4. Right-click on the UserForm and Select Properties.

5. Now, you can also change the background color of the UserForm by using the Color Palette of the BackColor option.

6. Add three labels, two TextBoxes and one CommandButton into the UserForm. Arrange them as such:

7. Also, add a ComboBox to the UserForm and drag it beside the label named, LANGUAGE.

8. The UserForm should now look something like this:

9. Then, click on the CommandButton named SAVE and change its BackColor using the Color Palette.

10. Experiment with the appearance of your new UserForm.

Alors, c’est tout pour aujourd’hui! Au Revoir! (Well, that’s all for today! Goodbye!)
