Four Rules To An Organized Home.

.Make House Cleaning A Habit. If cooking can be a passion; if interior designing can be a flair; then house cleaning and organizing are good habits to be passionate about and performed with panache. How can you enjoy the expensive fixtures ad furnitures inside your house, if it is all cluttered and messy ? How can you enjoy your top of the line kitchen appliances and gourmet dishes if all around you is filthy ?  Not only do you make your house clean and organize, it is also good mental therapy when feeling out of control and a good exercise when you are under the weather. Keep tossing, recycling and purging regular in your schedule.

.Strip Naked Your Space. Why are we so scared of blank spaces – when there is a wall we want to hang something on it; when there is a corner space, we want it filled with something like a vase, a figurine, a statue; when we have a hallway, we want to clutter it with a console table or a bench.  Why can’t we savor the joy of not bumping into anything; to walk freely without dodging anything breakable; to wake up in an uncluttered state of mind ? Because as soon as we step out of our door, everything is full of color and chaos.

.Opt for No Frill. Instead of drapery which needs cleaning every month and curtains which need washing every two weeks, use window blinds instead for its minimal maintenance. Instead of keeping a cabinet for displaying your china, free up the space in your dining room so that guests will have space to walk around.  Use the plates instead of showcasing it. Keep one set of pots and pans and tools so as not to use up counter spaces in the kitchen. Keep your bathroom free of unnecessary decors such as candles and fake flowers.

.Showcase Your Taste. Rather than fill your house with brick bracks that accumulate with dust and stuff that clutters, highlight on fixtures, furnitures and equipments that will define your style and pesonality. If you are fond of antiques, decorate with furnitures; if you are into Victorian style, show it in chandeliers and lighting; if you are into modern style, go high tech with your gadgets.  The idea is to accentuate and not to overwhelm.
