What you need to write, and stick to a piece is dedication. Everywhere, you see authors, not necessarily fiction writers, but authors just the same are all famous because they know how to sit down, control themselves, and write something all the way through.

Some people are natural writers, those people love to write and can’t go long without writing, it’s immensely fun for them, and it works. J.K. Rowling is an example of this, she’s admitted recently that she couldn’t go very long before needing to write something, and look at her fame because of it? She used to be poor, more so than most, now she’s a billionaire from her books.

If you’re not a natural writer, that’s OK, you just have to work a bit harder. If you take time out of your day, maybe every day, or every other day, and stick to writing in that time slot of a half hour, through an hour, or less if you don’t feel like writing that long, then you still can finish a piece.

Personally, I find that publishing chapters helps progress, because you have people who like your story that you want to please, and who are encouraging you, so if you just can’t seem to write extended-ly, I’d try on line writing websites, like Fanfiction.net for fan-fiction obviously, or there’s other sites for original content.

Another thing you need to write is creativity, this is what you use to get ideas in term of plot. Without creativity, you’re out of luck, but with it, everything opens to you in fiction. Your ideas become plausible at all times, because it’s fiction! Fiction is not limited by mere facts, not at all, and in fact everyone loves it.

If you have dedication and creativity, the only other resource you need is time. If you have all three, then you’re going to make a successful writer if you ever try. If you have two, either your stories will be bad, or take forever. If you have one, it’s not going to work out.
