Ever wonder why we’re not making as much as we want to here?

I have come to realize that of the people we incorporate into our group of friends only a small handful return reads, thereby increasing your numbers. I had left this site because of the many people that wanted me as their friend on here, I was the one giving them reads. Don’t get me wrong, there are many here that do read your articles or poems or view your pictures, but of the majority, they want you to increase their numbers with little or no effort from you. I know what you’re thinking that it takes us to make the first move to get them to do something…not always. I have many people here I could call friends and are good friends as they are avid readers and really read and comment. Then, you have those that cut and paste and just say, nice job. Then you have those that don’t read at all. The only way to make money here is to truly help one another out. So, to sum it up, if you get a read, give two back. If we all keep giving double of what we get then we will be on the road to making money. Now, good luck and write on!

I guess that’s the way it is in Triond and even in other writing sites. Friends help us by at least viewing our post. I too know if my article had been really read or not. But it doesn’t matter anymore. What matters to me the most is at least they have wasted their time to view it.

I dont know about earning but really… I open my triond account, I hung around coz I love to write.

I write poems and stories for myself and I write drug articles coz I want to share infos. Thats all.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. And honestly Michael, you write the nicest pieces of poetry :)

I understand your frustration Michael, I have been away a couple of months from Triond but was glad to see you back recently!

michael, i think you have a good idea about getting a read and giving two back..not all readers comment though..i never cut and paste comments though they may sound similar, i often get lost for words when it comes to evaluating others..i tend to not comment on pieces that i dont like.

I wasn’t able to leave as many comments as I would have liked to over the Summer months because that was a busy time for me, but I did read my friends work and clicked the I Like It button. Now that school has started again I can leave comments more often.

Well said! I can imagine many people are just too busy to read most articles written by their friends, but clicking on something takes two seconds (if you include clicking back again) so we should all be able to manage to click on our friend’s new articles whenever we log in. I tend to keep my comments for those articles that have actually inspired me to say something – I’m not a copy and paste person…
In all honesty, I would prefer for people to say something, honest, too – rather than to patronize me because we’re “friends”. I have principles and I cannot read a poorly written, boring article and comment otherwise – and I wouldn’t expect anyone to do so for me. I’m here to improve my English so constructive criticism would be very much appreciated, although I’m obviously thankful for any clicks I get, too.

Personally, I think the Authspot site is terribly presented and I even tried to tell Triond so but their contact form didn’t work. It looks unprofessional and I don’t think it’s fair on the people creating quality material for the site. We have to think about how people arriving via google searches would feel when first viewing Authspot. Less than impressed, I imagine. The pet site, on the other hand, looks wonderful and you receive far more clicks. If Triond are to be fair to all authors then each site used to publish work should be equally appealing for visitors.

I agree with you, Michael. It’s really frustrating that most people only are out to promote their own work but not support other writers. I’ve gotten discouraged many times and taken a break from Triond. However, I have found a few rays of hope, and that’s why I have stuck around. I understand people wanting to increase their readership, and it is definitely a challenge to find a balance between producing content, supporting others, and marketing your own work, but I don’t think we can truly be successful unless we consistently do all three.

I am in completely agree with you!I have considered dropping all of those that expect you to help them but do nothing in return.I respond on most work and all of those who respond on mine always get them back.I do rather hate those that copy and paste, you know they did not even read your work, quite easy to tell, either nice work, great work or interesting, nothing more…I wish this was the kind of site where we could learn from others such as helpful critisim, however;I don’t believe many on this site are open to that, although sometimes that is the only way to learn from your mistakes or rather learn what your mistakes are.I think if this site held actual writing contests it would help! Excellent write, very enjoyable read on a topic most do not want to touch on because it is the truth about triond…
