The perseverance of the world greats must motivate us.

The symbol of perseverance of the black man on the African continent is Nelson Mandela. This is a diehard politician who fought for the overthrow of apartheid. He believed the land is for the Blackman and freedom is his right so he never gave up. He fought until the white man with hatred, began to eradicate the blacks from the land. Even to that extent, he did not stop until he was arrested and sent to prison for 27years. For the white man he thought his dream has been shattered. Someone may die within these long years of imprisonment but perseverance to see the liberation of the Blackman kept his spirit alive until his enemy decided to release him. Perseverance will cause your enemy to give up on you. Mandela saw his long wish come to pass when he found independence and become President for at least 5 years before he stepped down.

Thomas Edison, the world’s inventor of electricity did it 10,000 times before he succeeded. Not only that he was a school dropout but he was not limited by his educational shortcomings. The guy who did not study physics in school has produced electricity that has been of great benefit to us today but the ones who studied the subject could not produce. What will make you succeed is more than education. He discovered his creativity when he rather went out of school. Surprising! Isn’t it? Perseverance is not singling out; it is waiting for those who are ready to support their efforts.

Helen Keller was deaf but she was one of the greatest authors of our time. She has her brains, she could think, she has her hands, she could write. Her deafness has nothing to do with her physical attributes she needed to achieve her purpose so she persevered and paid dividends for her.

Franklin Roosevelt was a paralytic but managed to become America’s President. For him the mind is what we use to achieve and not so much of the legs or the hands. So he defied the nonessentials and worked on his human psychology, used his head to study, developed himself and followed his dream until he had it. Perseverance pays once you have the key elements of your being functioning.

Vincent Van Gogh, an Italian skilled painter but was mentally ill has one of the finest and most expensive artworks in the world. Mental illness whichever way you look at it is very painful, but I tell you once it is an illness but not a defect, you’re urged on by perseverance because you realize you’re well able enough to deliver. The guy strikes the brush with the paint on the canvass and with time creates an image and a design. He has been able to use his deficiency to his advantage. Once the mind begins to think: “how am I going to achieve this?” then innovation and perseverance begin to take it course.

Milton Hershey, the inventor of Chocolate had a lot of setbacks but with perseverance, prevailed. The guy was a school dropout and later went for an apprenticeship as a compensation for his earlier disappointment but was again fired. Circumstances just to frustrate his ambition but that did not deter him. Chocolate in my opinion is the most satisfying foreign sweet and we all love it when we desire it especially the Switzerland type. What will have happened to the world today if he refused to peserverance?

Steve Jobs, inventor of “NEXT” software blossomed at age 20 in an apple business. When the directors of the company realized his creativity, they changed the course of the business and fired him. When they fired him, then he came up with the “NEXT” idea. Your dream that people tried to kill is a blessing in disguise to unearth another avenue. The dream killers only help you to master perseverance.
