Humility is the essence of love and understanding.  No amount of knowledge and money can stand to challenge such a virtue. There are those that assume power that they abuse, but if memory continues to serve me well, those that do so find themselves ultimately lost in the “woods of confusion” with the lapse of time.  History can attest to the downfall of dictators and despots through past centuries. They that sow the seeds of conceit and arrogance are bound to feel the sharp edge of humiliation when it comes time to reap their harvests of pain that they imagined to be nothing but pleasure.

Knowledge that is not tempered with humility can never be workable in terms of relationships. Life becomes drab and isolated from reality, while publicity that airs self-conceit cannot endure within the limitations of power and authority. 

There is nothing more deleterious than power that ill-serves the public. It is not for us to calculate our destiny in terms of the future. The unmitigated effects of abuses are self-destructive and so is the lordly character that foments the undesirable feeling of being unpopular. For instance, those that are chosen to carry the burdens of government are sure to fail the test of time at some point in their tenure of office if they happen to be wanting in humility that maintains sound,and ongoing relationships.

The quality of any virtue, be it love, truth, charity and goodwill, etc., must essentially include the aspect of humility in order to let the process of human affairs survive the unpredictability of life’s ups and downs.
