What is the value of anything that exist? In order to better find out I put my feet in the shoes of a watermelon to find its value.

But, the seeds are protected in the perfectly made shell. Protecting that which matters most like the inner rich tasting juice, seed growing processes, and the ruddy flesh mantle (-fleshy part we eat). This is the comb that protects foreign objects from harming the essential goods inside.

I am known as having a hard shell too. My most important thoughts, desires, and passions are tucked inside very tightly, like the grip of a fathers’ hand holding his son from falling off the edge of safety, into a dark cold pit where a slightly hidden lion lays waiting. My shell prevents invaders from inhibiting my body and mind. It covers my soul with a warm milky jacket of life. An example of how it protects me happened during my spiritual transformation, when something took control of my body. It turned my body towards my mother, while cursing abusive words. But when I realized what had happen about 10 feet from where I was a second before. I said “mom, I’m sorry, it wasn’t me, I swear, I don’t know what it was but “it” took control of my body.” About three days later I prayed to God to protect me and to be my shell of protection. Ever since that day, I have had a shell stronger than that of any shell any man could make. We are one in the same -we both have shells that protect our most essential parts. What is the value of a watermelon?

Without a doubt if a watermelon became capable of speaking it would clearly and simply say “Devin listen, you are a watermelon.” In a tone that can expand deep into the shells of other watermelons, there could be a chant in many fields and many places, saying or singing the amazing song of “Dev-in is a-a-a-a wat-er-melon”, over and over, even to their slumber. We are the same: we have shells, we have the appreciation of watermelon, and we love to create seeds, for the sake of other seeds. This is what is most valuable about that sun hitting the watermelon, to feed me more than just food but a new look on life. Who knows; what is the right pair of shoes to wear? Out of all the things to compare.
