The beginning…

“Are you sure about this?”

I looked over to my left and smiled warmly at my Singapore-based Korean friend, Kahi. Concern shown all over her face. “Girl, there’s nothing for me to be unsure about”, came my reply. By the looks of her expression it was reassuring enough. I smiled wider, “I am fine, okay?” I reached over to her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

I think I needed a hand squeeze myself.

I think I needed reassuring words myself.

I think–

God, I don’t know what I was thinking when I chose Seoul over Taiwan. These were the two countries given to me when our CEO asked which of the them I want to be assigned to.

Why Seoul?

“You’re a babo!! You know that?” It’s Kahi.

I chuckled guiltily and continued to look out the window. She won’t be my best friend if she can’t read me. I felt her hand on top of mine and she gave it a squeeze. I sighed and replied, “Yeah, I know.”

“Three days from now, it would be four years, right?”

I nodded.

{…Flashback…}

4 Years Ago…

I checked my plane ticket and a few minutes from now, I will be boarding. “This is it”, I heard myself mutter.

I can freaking do this!

I shouldn’t cry. My Korean best friend was already in Singapore waiting for me. I have left nobody special behind in Korea here. I shouldn’t cry. I titled my head backwards to stop the tears from forming. Just when I thought everything was going to be okay, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder, I turned.

“Aren’t you Nana?”

{…End of Flashback…}

Yes, people…My name is Im Nana.

I am the first MNET Scandal’s non-celebrity Girlfriend.

Being a disc jockey is a rewarding job for me. I don’t have to stay in the radio station for eight straight hours unlike other normal white-collared employees. I can just report to work at least an hour before my boardwork to prepare the playlist, commercials, and other on-air relating stuff.

Anyway, I remembered my mom saying that everything surrounding me is bits and pieces of my memories.

“Komawo.” I heard myself say as I received my coffee and settled at the empty table outside the cafe. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I’ve been in this neighborhood for 2 months, 4 years ago…the place changed. The coffee shops were everywhere. Everything changed, except the bus stop.

    inday yu here. first in this forum.

    your female lead character seem so unconventional. and the plot is interesting, too ! let’s see how this plays out, okey? but i guess, since you are the writer, this would again be another great story.

    goodluck !
