He lived for 95 years, which is in itself a great feat, but how I will miss him.

I will miss  Sir  Norman Wisdom

When I was a child, I used to frequent the cinema on a regular basis. I loved slapstick comedy, and to  watch Norman Wisdom, with his little check suit and hat was the ultimate. I used to have tears of laughter running down my cheeks at his antics, he was an absolute legend, a true comedy hero.

I read with great sadness that he passed away in a nursing home  on Monday 4th October. He was 95 years old, and died peacefully in his sleep. He had been suffering from strokes over a period of time, and also had dementia, and in the end could not even recognise himself when shown some of his old movies.

Norman was a very active man for most of his life, and I remember it was not too many years ago he appeared on our local news, he was definitely over 90 years of age, and I marvelled at the way he still had “It” and was fooling around with the interviewer with that earnest expression on his face, which made it all even funnier.

He was well worthy of his title of Sir Norman Wisdom, he made the lives of so many people much brighter with his unique brand of comedy. What a wonderful long life he. had,  God bless you Sir Norman Wisdom, may you rest in peace.
