A motivational article to inspire others to be flexible, and optimistic.
If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again. A good mantra, i suppose. Words of wisdom to say the least. But what about those times when you never seem to succeed? And i know you’re going to say “well, we can spend our whole lives worrying about the what ifs of life.” What if Michael Jackson were still alive? What if Charles Manson had become a famous musician? What if Rush Limbaugh suddenly dies (wouldn’t that be nice)? What if the world explodes?!!!

But to me, it’s not so much worrying about the what ifs, than it is just constantly trying, and trying again. Things are just a constant struggle. Which is fine in the sense that when something cool does happen, or you get that “big break” (which is extremely rare). It’s usually well deserved, and gives you a bigger sense of accomplishment. From the average person’s point of view, it tends to be one of those “the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence” sort of things.
It almost always seems like the people that get the break, are the least deserving of it. And while it’s true, that you can’t judge without knowing what that person’s been through (Judge not lest ye be judged), Sometimes, just sometimes, you may be right. People get things that they don’t deserve, be it in a good, or bad sense. You just have to take everything with a grain of salt, ’cause ”Life aint no crystal stair”. If it weren’t for the bad, how would you know the good? It’s one of my favorite questions in the world. Very philosophical.

I’m sure Socrates, or Aristotle have brought up that question many a times in different forms. You can’t have darkness without light, just like you can’t be happy if you’ve never felt sad. When dealing with people, and circumstances however, I like to think of the myself as a river. Just flow around the bad situations, or rocks as i like to call them, and over time they will just erode away. Go with the flow, and you will never be slow. Here and there everybody has the urge to go upstream, like a salmon, and if that’s your style, that’s ok. But as for me, I’ll just be like water.
