Sometimes we look back and we wish we could have done things differently; not that I wanted to changed anything, but perhaps it could have been different.

Dedicated to both my nieces, whom I love very much, and wish I could have done more for.

I came into your lives when you were only 3 and 4, so alike but yet so different, I loved you at first glance. Obstacles and family nonsense seemed to keep us a part, but with the glimmer of hope, of when we got together, we always had a lot of fun. The years flew by you both became teenagers and went on to become young women. You have both listened to your hearts and found you niche in life. You laughed, you cried and partied if you could; and even through the hard times you walked your path of victory. If only I could is all I am left to say.

I got old, and you both choose your paths with style and a beauty that belonged to each one of you. If only I could have I would have done more, but I was never allow in by family or by foe. You both were growing up so very fast it’s hard to believe my eyes when I would see you standing there.

I watched you both at a distance and always prayed for your safety, in my heart, and in my soul I wondered where you were. Two young women, mothers now with situations of their own. If only I could make everything easier, I would be there in just a moment.

I can’t do that from afar but I will guide you when I can. As nature takes its course, lets listen to the sweet music and try to get past the hurdles. We shall laugh and cry together, amongst the distant sounds of the children laughter, birds singing and the streams that seem to flow. Then at night when we lay our head to rest, I will know there is no better blessing sent from God above, when I know your safe with your head upon your pillow and your children at your breast.

Life was never easy as you both now can see, but I pray together soon; happy we shall be. At that time we can share the sweetest memories and peaceful times that made us so silly. Growing up is supposed to be fun and it should never end, and even as adult we are allowed to do just that.
