A poem about dreams that seem too far out of reach.

My dreams seem so far out of reach
Lost deep within the sky
Maybe I could find them,
If only I could fly

Another wish was casted
and a dream shattered on the ground
Sometimes I would like to swim out in the ocean,
So far that I am so tired I could drown

I can hear the melody in my head,
So solemn and alone
I would find the dreams that I lost,
If only I had known

When I see their constant smiles,
It makes me feel so betrayed
Why must I feel this way,
Is it punishment for mistakes I made

All my cards are on the table,
and I wish I had some truth
Every time someone lied to me,
Was there ever an excuse?

I wish that I could fly tonight
So I could reach the sky
Search for all my dreams
That always seem to be placed way too high
