If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always got.
While reading a book Called 7 Keys to success by Will Edwards, I came across this wonderful quote that read, “If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always got”. This is an amazing use of the English language to put across the message that we all have always known, somehow we have neglected it. We all understand that if we need to achieve something new in life, we need to do something new.
A lot of us always blame it on others or circumstances or lack of opportunities, we do not want to acknowledge that all this while when nothing new was happening to us we were not even doing anything new to get it. We all come to work, look forward to end of the shift feel good about the shift getting over and leave for home. At home we say we do not find time to do anything but sleep.
The question is whether all of us feel the same, or take life in the same way. Let us compare ourselves with those who are seen to be getting everything in life; have they done anything out of the ordinary to achieve what they have in life? Are they doing exactly what we are doing and the “luck” always gets them there? If you closely see you will find that there will be something different in the way they approach personal/professional life, or in handling people around them.
If you feel things are not happening, retrospect and see if you have tried doing something new to get what you want. This formula does not mean that with just one attempt of doing new things you will get whatever you like, It means that you have to constantly try to get the desired results and once you get the desired results you should keep doing the same thing so to maintain the result.
I have a strong desire to shed some weight, earlier I was thinking about it to myself and was not getting the result, this time I have done something new, I have shared the thought with you all, lets see if it helps (just kidding), I have understood that I need to do something do get the result and not just think and plan.
I will no more blame it on the job I do, I will not put it on my fate, if I really desire, I will get up and do what it takes…
Wish all of us figure out what it takes and do something new to get a stream of new things and open new channels of success for ourselves. Remember you are the determinant, nothing or no one else is.
“If you always do what you’ve always done, you always get what you’ve always got”. – Wonderful thought
