Being a fan of certain aspects of Harry Potter movies, have always wondered if someone would really require an invisibility cloak at all. Here are the thoughts that either supported or denied the concept of invisibility.

Invisibility Cloak is required…

  1. To hide from others when we commit crimes, not in the thought of escaping law, but because of their guilt consciousness, not permitting them to show their face to others in shame.
  2. To escape from the eyes of the tyrant rulers who would steal our wealth and talent in order to fulfill their personal dreams and their family’s aspirations and growth.
  3. To those who want to understand the true feelings of others.
  4. To see what kind of aftereffects arise because of one’s actions, however noble they may appear to be.
  5. To identify the backstabbers and those who talk ill about others in their back.
  6. To take bird photography by getting as close to the birds as possible without disturbing them.
  7. To catch hold of the poachers and useless people who corrupt the sanctuaries by throwing litter and make noises disturbing the peace of the wildlife.
  8. To the super-cops who are really loyal enough to the community and will catch the culprits red-handed, even if it means that they have to face the heat from their superiors or the politicians.
  9. To give pleasant surprises to friends and family during their birthdays by saying that the person cannot attend the function and appear from out of the blue – obviously out of the cloak!
  10. To those poor countries which have lots of fuel to save themselves from the sight of the right countries who aim at creating some political turmoil to get their oil resources.

However, Invisibility Cloak is certainly not required…

  1. To those, who are totally corrupt people and are involved in scams and when caught, enjoy being in prisons or hospitals (as they get heart and gastric problems only during arrest and not while committing crimes); still eating public funds.
  2. To people who do not know how to express love and think that nobody loves them, just because they cannot express nor recognize true love; and they are as good as invisible anyway.
  3. To those who want to sleep in the class without the knowledge of the teacher – always strongly believed that it is okay to sleep in class if one really is not well after getting permission.
  4. To the poachers who want to kill for money and fun. Anybody who hunts not for food and just for fun is a poacher-murderer, even if the person has killed just a mouse.
  5. To the scam-generators who may illegitimately benefit through this power of invisibility and to those who want to spoil other’s progress by doing something wrong and put the blame on the victim. As emphasized in the movie ‘Spiderman’ so many times, “With great power, comes great responsibility” (and certainly not authority to cheat others!)
  6. To the countries which aim at creating lots of stealth mode weaponry just to show off that they are some superpower in the world and would not come forward and take necessary steps, when their friend nation is in true and severe crisis (the whole world would know who is being referred to after the latest crisis in the land of the rising sun!)
  7. To the individuals who want to poke their nose into other person’s privacy, such as those who may hide in ladies’ private rooms to take advantage, and to countries which want to spy on other countries using their espionage agencies.
  8. To the cowards, who love to frighten others and derive cheap joy out of it.
  9. To those who seek peace of mind by leaving the chaos of their homes and workplaces. They must not hide, as they have to realize that the primary reason for most of the chaos around them is the individual himself/herself.
  10. To the criminals who want to hide after committing the heinous crime to the society or wildlife, just to escape the arms of the law.

To summarize, if invisibility cloak can do some good, it should be used.
