One way to make yourself feel better when things are going wrong is to consider how much worse off other people are then yourself, thus making your situation seem not so bad. So I started thinking about what worst case scenario might really look like, and this is the funniest thing I could come up with – hopefully you feel better after reading it
I wanted to write something awesome but I came up with this instead; it could be worse. I poured my cereal this morning before I realized we were out of milk; it could be worse. I could only find mismatched socks and my shoe has a hole in it; it could be worse. The car wouldn’t start and it had been snowing all morning; it could be worse. I had to walk to work and when I got there they told me I’d been downsized; it could be worse. I tried to call for a ride but my cell phone was dead and I didn’t have money for a payphone; it could be worse. By the time I got home I had frostbite on my toes; it could be worse. It was my birthday and nobody remembered; it could be worse. I never had pineapple before so I made pineapple upside down cake – it turns out I’m allergic; it could be worse. I tried to call 911 and got a busy signal; it could be worse. I stumbled to my neighbor’s house for help, the lights were on but no one answered so I passed out on the sidewalk; it could be worse. A good samaritan drove me to the hospital, stole my wallet and shoved me out of the car in front of the emergency room; it could be worse. I crawled to the receptionist’s desk and had to wait in line; it could be worse. When I got to the front of the line the lady told me I had to fill out paperwork; it could be worse. I filled it out barely conscious and found out my insurance had lapsed; it could be worse. I finally saw a doctor and he said I was going to live; it could be worse.
