Think about it. Thousands of people live in poverty everyday whereas us, we are living a king’s life compared to them. See what difference money can do to people? Why are we insulting money and calling it a ‘root of all evil’? It is money which is allowing us to live in luxury. If not for money, the world would not be what it is today. Yes, I support the sentiment; it is money which makes the world go around.

 So my friends, money on its own is all right, but it is greed that is the root of all evil. Let me give you a few more examples. Let us take kidnappers for instance, why do they kidnap innocent people and hold high ransoms? Couldn’t they set low ransoms? It is obvious that their greed of money has blinded them and has led them to the path of evil, the path where they would do anything they would like to get what they want. If you all have been reading the newspaper lately, you will see that there is an increasing number of people stealing money from their offices and abscond to foreign lands. Why is this so? Once again, it is the greed of money which makes them commit such horrendous offences. Decades ago, people from the third world were bound in chains and were forced to work for the upper class. Why didn’t anyone stop this vile act? It was due to the large bribes going around. Poachers do not heed the national laws set about the poaching of animals and till this day, illegal poaching is a serious matter which has not been treated properly. These situations have all been caused by the uncivilized behaviour from one word, greed. Greed can be compared to a raging fire. The more oil you put in the fire, the fiercer it gets and more oil is needed to satisfy it. This is the unfortunate truth about greed, it never gets satisfied. This is why I strongly believe that it is the love of money which is the root of all evil.
