About a friend named Dorothy, with whom I spent so much free time, lines of relationship got blurred…

Dorothy oh Dorothy
Sweet, sexy little Dorothy
Only slightly taller than a munchkin
Let ME take you “Over the Rainbow”
with some deep soul touching lovin’

Definitely NOT like Scarecrow
this girl’s got a highly educated brain
Nothing at all like the Cowardly Lion
enough courage to fight Multiple Sclerosis
Enduring nine years of almost constant pain

This Dorothy doesn’t own a cute, yipping little canine
Instead in it’s place, a very old, needy feline
Often while visiting Dorothy
I’d look at her wickedly and inside pine like a fool
Thinking to myself, “I’ll get you my pretty
and your little pussy too!”

Though she does share something in common
with this rusty old Tin Man
Each of us has had troubles in affairs of the heart
she obviously having a problem receiving or expressing
The truest of emotions
I sense both of us could’ve used a lot more love
than either of us was ever given

Not sorry at all and will never regret
the enjoyment of many exclusive hours spent
walking, talking, playing cards, and running errands
just basking in the warmth of her presence
Wish I’d had the strength though, not felt so powerless
To keep from being swept up into that
mind bending cyclone of infatuation

No longer in the “Land of Oz” now…
Backin “Kansas” and the reality stands
that this “Technicolor” fantasy was just that
and will never come to fruition
