It’s Hard To Have Faith

I was born and baptized a Catholic, and today I somewhat feel shame because of what my chosen Religion has become, a haven for Pedophiles, so it seems, and that’s a real shame.

It’s not that these men joined the Catholic Church with any thoughts on their minds, other than serving God, but somewhere, something broke down, and the Catholic Church, lays in smoldering stories, of sex gone wrong, desperately wrong.

I’ve known Priests, on a personal level, and I’ve often asked them how they can not have the urge to have sex, or make love with some of the women in the parish, and they all seemed to answer in the same way. We came into the Catholic Church knowing full well what was expected from us. We new we had to abstain from sex of any kind, and yet, and unfortunately many priests have now turned into Pedophiles and for what? One might ask. To serve God and believe, that he wants men to ruin the lives of young boys? That’s a hard story to believe.

Why do other priests marry? Anglicans marry; carry the word of God to the sick and dying, and I’ve never heard, or read where an Anglican Priest has gone after children, not once.

Why the Pope, and the Catholic Church chose to hide the priests away who suffered from Pedophilia, I have no idea, but shame on them for doing so. Instead of sending them off to other congregations, they, the Pope and his Bishop’s should have taken this matter to hand, and either suggested that these men get help, or kick them out of the Catholic Church.

How many young boys and girls for that matter, were sexually assulted by Priests will never be known. It’s not only men or young boys, who’ve been abused, but girls too, though one rarely hears about it, girls have their share of bad experiences with Catholic Priests as well.

It’s my belief that if the Catholic Church wants to stop their priests from chasing after young children, perhaps it’s not too late, to allow them to marry. For many priests this would be a blessing, and hopefully being married wouldn’t take them away from God, actually it would bring them closer, as they aren’t, or wouldn’t be sinning if marriage were allowed.

Perhaps the young boys of any congregation would finally be safe, and life could go on without all the badness that is happening in the Catholic Church today. It’s not going to get better without some kind of drastic change, probably things will only get worse. Lets pray for change for the many priests who need our prayers.
