Aspiring news that the long-running series may live twice.

“Bond, James Bond”

Since the 1960’s the uttering of those famed words from the handsome face of the numerous actors to embrace the role of the M16 agent has been the fixture in the cinema experience of countless diehard Bond fans. Whether it was the menacing Connery, umm interesting Lazenby, flamboyant Moore, glaring Dalton, slick Brosnan or dynamic Craig; James Bond fans from across the decades have enjoyed an enjoyable constancy of films.

For a while, it was perceived that the cinematic tradition had become distant memory; since the disappointing Quantum of Solace in 2008 the hopes for a new instalment to the franchise experienced a dramatic decline. Delays, financial travesty, possible cancellation and chaotic personnel changes have turned what used to be energetic optimism into reluctant acceptance that the new Bond film may be years away if ever.

The closing months of 2010 saw a positive turnaround in the form of MGM finally having its restructuring plans approved and funded with $500 million now under their belt to revive such halted projects as the 007 film.

A release date of 2012 has been confirmed but the worker regrouping still hangs in the balance with Craig’s reacquiring of the tux and license to kill not being guaranteed; the hope for all Bond fans is that the series will carry on and that Craig will continue his origin story of Bond and how he morphs from a hot-headed, reckless rookie into the suave, epitome of male excellence that prior movies have shown he becomes, at this stage all we know is that James Bond will return.
