Jesse James an outlaw? here’s what I think.

. Now lets see the other side of this story.

Jesse had grown up with out a father and the next person to take the place of  being a father to him was Frank, his brother and Jesse would look up to Frank and imitate everything that he did and the decision of his brother joining the bushwhackers was a decision that Jesse also did due to him trying to be like Frank . Jesse had been brainwashed by William Quantrill and William made it so that Jesse and the members of the bushwhackers would love Quantrill and everything he did and when he was ambushed and killed Jesse was angry at the confederates for taking away his mentor and leader. Jesse now at a young age saw that the confederate army took away a very good friend of his and if someone kills your best friend you want to get revenge, just like how Jesse wanted revenge for the death of his friend.

After the death of Jesse’s friend and mentor (William Quantrill) Jesse and his brother Frank had to go back to their farm. When Jesse and Frank arrived they were soon told that their mother was captured by the confederate army. Now if your friend has just been killed and your mother too has been captured by the same people you would be pretty angry just how Jesse was. Jesse and brother Frank were now a two man team that would rob banks and take lives to get revenge on the confederates. Jesse and Frank rapidly grew a reputation for crime and felonies that they committed but they believed that the confederates were the enemies because they were raised like that. Jesse and Frank’s relationship grew with their growing reliance on each but that soon broke, Frank had been killed by a confederate solider.

Frank and Jesse had been ambushed by a group of confederate soldiers. Frank had been shot and killed but Jesse managed to get away. Jesse had ran out of options but luckily an option came from the president of the united states of America, Abraham Lincoln had sent a message to all of the guerrillas including Jesse James that if they surrender and stop fighting so will the confederate army and they will be forgiven for their acts. Jesse chose this option, I think it was very courageous of him to surrender to the people who had took his mother, shot his friend and mentor, and shot his brother who he loved very much. When Jesse rode into town with a white flag symbolizing his surrender he was shot two times in the chest by the confederate army Because of their anger of the death of their leader, Abraham Lincoln was shot but not by Jesse Woodson James. Now Jesse had been betrayed by his own country after giving up to it, but Jesse lived.
