Joe opened the door of his Moms house and entered the hallway. Taking off his shoes he entered the living room where his Mom was waiting for him.

‘Happy birthday Joe.’ She said’ This came for you.’ She continued handing him a Yellowish envelope with his name written on it in emerald green ink. It was sealed shut with a wax seal with an H on it.

Taking the letter Joe turned it over in his hands. A smile filling his face as he realised what it was.

‘Well aren’t you going to open it?’ Asked his Mom.

Turning the envelope so the seal faced him, Joe carefully opened it and pulled out the letter and started reading.

‘HOGWARTS SCHOOL of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY.

Headmistress MINERVA McGONAGALL

Dear Mr. ‘

Just then there was a knock on the door.

Joe’s Mom left the room to answer the door. A few minutes later a man entered the room tripping as he did. ‘Hi I’m Professor Longbottom of Hogwarts school.’ He said a little nervously. ‘I’m here to explain to you and your Mother about our school and your talents.’

‘I’m a Wizard aren’t I Sir?’ Joe asked.

‘You are.’ Came the reply ‘Now let me explain what this means.’ Professor Longbottom continued looking from Joe to his mother and back again. ‘You are capable of doing things that normal people cannot and Hogwarts will be able to help you come to terms with and hone your talents.’

‘I already know a little about Hogwarts as my friends Dad has told me all he knows from things he has been told by family.’

‘Ah yes Dudley Dursley of Privet Drive. His cousin is an old friend of mine. Did he tell you he made his cousins life hell when they lived together?’

‘He told me that as a child he used to think of him as a freak but after he saved his life he started realising that he was alright and they now get on better than ever. In fact this Cousin is bringing his kids to visit during the holidays.’

‘The Potters will help you. I think you will get on great with them.’  Realising Joe did not need him to explain things to him Professor Longbottom turned to his Mom and started explaining what Joe was and what Hogwarts was and why he should attend.’
