The first part of a book that I would like to write.
The only thing that stopped Cadarn from gutting the man was his need for speed. He hated the way that when he entered a new town men always tried to fight him. It wasn’t that he caused trouble. It was that he was foreign. It was not very often that a Teutonic Dark knight of the Order of Destiny was travelling through Delos. The problem was that it was controlled by the enemy. Cadarn was not in his armour, so that the town’s folk could not be sure of his identity, although they could have guessed due to his sheer size. He stood at six foot seven inches with a shoulder width of forty five inches. He did not need the huge broad sword on his horse when it came to fighting the townsmen.
Anyway he was on his way to see Arian, the high priest of Condoss, when the three idiots stepped in front of him.
“Well, well, well, what have we here?” the first of them sneered at Cadarn.
“Try me and find out, you miscreant of the human race” Cadarn replied.
As this was going on the other two of the men were extracting cruel looking pieces of metal from their clothes.
“Ha ha ha, you three are going to try and fight me all on your own? Dear oh dear oh dear!!!”
“Yes neighbour, as a matter of fact we are”
“Ok then, if you insist”
The two other men circled in the opposite direction to each other around the back of Cadarn. The first bloke took out an old rusted flintlock pistol from the first century of the ancient English empire. As he cocked the weapon, Cadarn lunged forward and ripped the gun from his hands, just as the two behind swung their weapons. He shot the first man and turned on the other two in the same movement. He brought the butt of the weapon down upon one of the men’s heads which caused a bloody crater in which brains and cranial jelly came together in some kind of human soup. The third man , wide eyed and now stinking of fear dropped his weapon and fled.
He needed a drink. All he could think about was the warm fuzzy sensation of the cold ale going down his throat. No. He had to concentrate. He must find Arian and inform him of the poison spreading through the east.
