I recently read a blog, I found via Stumble Upon the other day. And it was odd, in a way that you will have to read it to find out what I mean.

I recently read a blog, I found via Stumble Upon the other day. It was titled “Kids of the 60’s and 70’s we made it” I don’t remember it word for word but the main idea of it was:

“Pat yourself on the back because we survived the 60’s and 70’s! And we didn’t have things like cell phones or videogames and we turned out alright. We would just go out and use our imaginations, we would go out all day and night and come home just to eat dinner and sleep and our parents wouldn’t think anything about it. We survived!”

The original was obviously longer but this was the main point.

This is not the reason why I am writing this but for a response to it. I also do not remember it word for word so I will give a main idea.

“Well congrats on surviving the 60’s and 70’s but guess what… you’re the parents that now buy the cell phone for your little pumpkin and demand to know where they are, or where the have been. And you’re the one that buys the videogames for your kid. You are the parents now. You always say how the good old days were; well maybe we want to live that.”

I totally agree with that. I myself being a kid of the 90’s agree with that person’s response. Comment on it if you do agree and even do not agree. I grew personally grew up using Legos, and it was not until I was in 6th grade I got a GameCube. But now I am seeing some of my brothers friends, getting Rated M games and they are in fourth grade! And I mean I can live knowing they are playing Halo or Call of Duty 4 and 5, but some have survival horror games such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill. I mean where did it go? The person who wrote the thing about surviving the 60’s and 70’s does not seem like he/she has kids.

What I wrote about the kids having Rated M games is also fuel for another blog which I think I will start working on.

So again please comment on this, let me know what you think about this. Thank you for reading this.
