Carla Cassidy was sent to Knightly Academy by her parents after a horrible incident back at her old home in Michigan. Now at this odd boarding school in the middle of nowhere, maine, Carla is forced to face a reality that she hadn’t believed exsisted when her parents tell her shes a witch. Besides being knew at Knightly Academy (a school for supernatural teens) and starting as a junior, shes not a full witch. Her father is a wizard but her mother was a human (or so she was told), which is unacceptable in the supernatural world. As her first few months began, she begins to fall for her trainer, Wylie Justice, another half-wizard. During thanksgiving break her friend Prue gets kidnapped by evil fairies and it ends up being up to Carla to save her. With the help of a sarcastic vampire classmate, Carla runs away from school in search of her friend. Along the way, she finds her hart torn between her feelings for Wylie and, Cathal Wilder, the sarcastic, but sexy, vampire.
“Maybe we should let you rest.” Her mother spoke for the first time. When Carla’s father began to protest she silenced him with a look. She stood up and gave Carla kiss in the forehead.
Her father sighed in defeat. ” We will talk to you later.” He kissed her on the forehead and then they left.
Carla was suprised that her mother was right, she was tired. Her mind still played over and over the days events as she rolled onto her side. The bed was completely bare, but she was to tired to notice.
Carla woke up to a familiar buzzing sound. She opened her eyes to see her alarm clock on the edge of the desk, right by her head. She reached out and slapped it until she hit the right botton. She was about to doze off again when she heard a knock on her door.
“Go away.” She mumbled. The person knocked again. “Go away.” Carla said louder. Then she heard the door open.
Carla sat up rubbing her blury eyes. “Hey what gives? I didn’t answer the door for a reason.”
The who stoud at the end of her bed just stared. Something was off about this girl. She had long thick black hair that hung in waves over her shoulders. She wore what Carla guessed was the school uniform, a dark blue pleated skirt, a dark blue blazer jacket, white collared shirt, white knee high socks and black shoes. What caught Carla’s attention was her emotionless stormy gray eyes. She was petite with porcelain colored skin and narrow face.
“I’m your guide for the week.” The girl said in an odd voice, it was light but as empty of emotion as her eyes.
“O-okay…” Carla wasn’t sure what else to say. She stoud up from her bed. “Whats your name?” Carla asked, trying to hide her uncomfortbleness.
“Prudence Winstead.”
“Nice to meet you.” She didn’t say anything else. “Uh, so, are we supposed to be going somewhere?”
“Yes, the orientation is in fifteen minutes.”
Carla was shocked, she turned to look at the clock, sure enough, it read four forty-five. “We should get going.”
Pruedence turned and walked out into the hall, the dorm was oddly quiet. Carla stopped and turned to lock her door. “No locks.” Purdence said.
“Really?” Carla turned to her in suprise.
Prudence nodded. “Theres no need. If anyone steal something Headmaster Nobel will know about it, then they will be expelled.”
