Leaf: I was green and sweet smelling but now I am yellow and dry.
Leaf: Why are you crawling on me?
Caterpillar: When you fell off the branch, I was already on you.
Leaf: Maybe I fell off owing to your load?
Caterpillar: I have crawled over you thousands of times. It is a groundless accusation.
Leaf: I was green and sweet smelling but now I am yellow and dry.
Caterpillar: Your time is over. Now you will be crushed and mixed in the soil.
Leaf: Don’t be so proud of your state!
Caterpillar: Why shouldn’t I be? I am going to become a butterfly soon.
Leaf: You will fly to places yonder.
Caterpillar: Yes, and I will suck the nectar of the best of the flowers.
Leaf: My destiny was attached to the branch of the tree. We are dropped down every year and new leaves take birth.
Caterpillar: That is the cycle of the nature.
Leaf: I have bad feelings and I think in future our generations will be finished.
Caterpillar: Why?
Leaf: I have been reincarnated over and again and this time I found a drastic change.
Caterpillar: And what is that?
Leaf: When there were no human beings, there were trees and trees everywhere. There were thousands of creatures like you. We were born happily and we died happily.
Caterpillar: And now?
Leaf: We used to wait for our death on the velvety bed of grass, enjoying the sunshine but now we mostly get crushed under human feet.
Caterpillar: We have our own miseries. We have fewer places to fly to.
Leaf: A great curse is going to fall on human race. One day, in very near future, they are going to disappear from this earth.
Caterpillar: I wish it would happen soon.
Leaf: I am sure that I am going to be reincarnated into a better and green world.
Caterpillar: And I am going to be a butterfly that will have millions of trees and plants to land on.
An eagle swoops down and picks the caterpillar with its beak and a little boy puts his foot on the leaf. They get to their end and the writer smiles.
