Home-Based leisure

Home-based leisure is activities that would take place in your home for example

·         Reading

·         Computer and game consoles

·         Television

The Value of the Leisure Industry

General Benefits

There are many benefits to leisure activities. Most of the benefits come from the activities that are active because by doing high impact activities you will relieve stress, meet new people and learn new skills. You can also get enjoyment out of lower impact, passive and home-based activities.

The interactive media market

Staff levels have risen dramatically amongst call centre staff and internet workers due to the fact that we have bad shopping habits. There has been an obvious upward trend in spending on multimedia and interactive services. The leisure industries research centre has predicted further growth in this market, especially with the cessation of television which nowadays offers a greater choice in channels.

Growth in Europe

The growth in the rest of Europe is increasing very fast. Germany has built ‘Europe Park’ and has roughly 3.5 million visitors each year. They have even expanded to include a new hotel which will be themed in a Roman style. Silver screen has decided to open a new cinema site in Warsaw. Le Meridian Villion has built a new opera hall in Lithuania. The population is growing as well as the people’s disposable income which means people are spending more money on leisure pursuits. In addition people have more free time and are living longer.
