A true tale of health problems encountered and dealing with them from both a patient and nurses point of view.

So what do we do now? We have time booked off work for a break, we need one just to relax and unwind after the last couple of months, we need to get away and enjoy our selves a little.

We have the trailer tent sitting in the garden so we decide that we would take that and make the most of our time off.

We had been told that the Isle of Wight was a nice place to go very relaxing normally good weather and very peaceful, so the Isle of Wight is would be.

We set off in the early hours to catch the ferry from Portsmouth over onto the island. It was an uneventful run down and we arrived at the ferry port at around 4 am (a lot sooner than we expected) and we got onto an earlier ferry than we were booked on. Arriving on the island around 5 is.

We had decided on a site in Bembridge which was on the eastern side of the island, so we proceeded to make our way from the ferry port over the island to the site arriving around 5 30 am so we settled down to have a sleep in the car until the site opened at 7 am.

It was a pleasant morning and everything was looking good, we got a good pitch for the tent and got it erected, we were a few yards from the water point and the refuse bins and short walk from the shop and shower block, so all looked well.

There was an entertainment centre in the other half of the camp so we had most of what we would need close by.

It was all too good to be true.

Had the run of luck and the events of the last few months finally reached their peak and begun to change in our favour. NO WAY.

The sky began to grow dim and the breeze was increase.

The weather forecast on the radio told us storms were on the way.

The wind increased and the rain started the following day and remained with us for most of the week with just a small respite every now and again.

We were informed by people who had been going over to this site for upto 30 years that they could not remember ever having weather this bad in all the time they had been going there, so the gremlins are still with us.
