Something I thought of while feeling depressed, that helped me deal with my demons.
The young girl sits down on the steps of her home.
She watches the young woman with her boyfriend down the street. She watches the man propose to her, reciting his love for her. She watches them entering their new home across the street. She watches the woman’s stomach getting bigger and bigger. She watches them come home with a newborn baby. She watches a toddler waddling down the sidewalk. She watches a child going to their first day of school. She watches a child running home with a huge grin on their face. She watches a teen going on their first date. She watches a teen going to their first dance. She watches a teen graduating from high school. She watches an adult coming home with their fiance. She watches a baby with their family. She watches a toddler running outside on the grass. She watches mournful people entering the house. She sees a for sale sign put up on the house across the street. She sees a moving truck parked outside the house. She sees a young family of three move into the house across the street.
The elderly woman gets up from the steps of her house, and goes through the door, leading to inside the house she has lived in all her life. She had seen life, as it goes by.
