Usual corporate life, and then the life changed with an accident…

17th November 2009 was just any ordinary day. I was lazying around at home, in anticipation of the housekeeping to come and clean my appartment. One of those pleasant days in Bangalore you won’t find too often in the city because of the relentless drive of the city administration to cut down trees to fuel urbanization. But that day was different, it was cool, pleasant and if I remember right, it rained last night.

House keeping did their job and left and I was supposed to close the door. Since I have a paralized leg, I wear a caliper to enable me in walking and have to wear it all the time to walk. I didnt wore it on that day and after returning from closing the door I had a fall. A Major One!

My body went numb at the impact, it was unbearable. I put some ice on my leg in anticipation that it will bring some comfort but no respite. I knew it was not a usual pain of a sprain, this was something more. Had a painful night that I even don’t want to imagine. Next day morning was no different, pain was unbearable just that adrelenine concentration in my body wasn’t any high. I called up my house-owner who was gracious enough to send me his car-driver and another helper in helping me climb down the stairs (given the elevator of our complex wasn’t functioning, lucky me!).

We went straight to the hosiptal and doctors declared that my ankle is broken. I need to be on the bedrest for about 6 weeks. 6 WEEKS OF BED-REST??? Time that changed my life forever…
