Just a little wave of thought I had to ponder over.

I have been contemplating something lately  that is rather disturbing but true. I know it is wrong to lie, infact the bible states it is a sin and it is one of the ten commandments, however;is it considered a sin by making someone feel good about themselves if they are so lowly that it requires a white lie in order to make them feel better?

I realize that is a hard question to answer so here goes, I told a little white lie yesterday to a friend and have asked myself if the gratefulness and happiness it created worth sinning for? I have to admit, it undoubtedly was! There is nothing like the feeling of helping someone to feel better about themselves and if it takes a white lie in order to do so, then so be it!

So the question is now, is it a sin to help someone by sinning, especially if you know you are sinning? If so then I guess I’m going to hell.

Being a nice person sends you the other direction. You can be forgiven of your sins. Keep being nice. It becomes you.

I’m a preacher’s kid several times over. Meaning my father, his father, his father, his father and a few more were preachers. So, I’ve heard a lot of lessons.
One lesson told about how all the law hang upon the most important. The most important is to love God and all the others follow after that. Meaning that some laws are more important than others. The lesson told that when two laws come in conflict, you must study to know which is more important. To me I think it was more important to care for you friend.

First in answer to your question, love for the friend far outweighs the white lie, well in my opinion anyway. Though I’m not what you would call religious, I do believe all answers come from within and everyone is capable of finding them. We do what we feel is right, by ourselves and others, and my motto is, if I can make at least one person smile in a day, then that day was worthwhile.

Thanks for the lovely comments and for making me smile today.

A little white lie is wonderful if it makes someone feel better and does no harm. In fact it’s a good example for everybody to follow.

i think white lie isnt that wrong, if its for the better.

We only have to be light on ourselves, accept our faults and try hard to make right things although it won’t be that easy. Remember we are on earth and not in heaven so committing mistakes would be to our own option. My view of life is just like taking the ladder on the way up, making mistake is just staying on a particular step too long. Imagine if everybody who commit mistakes go to hell I bet there won’t be a lot more than ten perfect souls in heaven. BTW nice contemplation, at least we knew how to avoid people who makes us think too silly not to be perfect.

Well, very well written and the good thing about little white lies, they don’t escalate.

Thanks again for the lovely comments, I’m still finding my feet in this place and I’m still a little unsure what to write and feel I’m kinda safe with poetry. I do intend to deviate away from it at some point and add a few of my own thoughts, the problem is my mind is full of so much junk I don’t know where to start…lol

Thanks for making me feel so welcome, it really is appreciated

I actually think that a little white lie that does not cause ANY harm, and makes someone happy is totally ok. :)
