Growing up wit a disabilty.
As a child with Cerebral Palsy (C.P.), growing up I herd you can’t do that or that’s to hard for you. Words I didn’t want to hear or except. I wanted to do what all of the other kids in the neighborhood were doing. Go outside, play hide-n-seek and games like that.
The kids didn’t know how to react. They never saw someone walk so differently. After they got over their fears and asked all their questions, they saw me as one of them.
I had a normal childhood. Played with the neighborhood kids. Played little league baseball. To me, having a disability was not a big deal because that was all I knew. If I would’ve let my disability get the best of me, I would not have known what I could do.
