Sometimes we feel that there are more “downs” in life than there are “ups,” and tend to overlook some of the significant “ups,” such as good health, the privilege of freedom, the ability to continue applying our efforts in the way of achieving what we might want in life, as well as our competitiveness, regardless of how badly we are jostled and jolted by the rest of the competitors.

Do you ever get the feeling sometimes that there are more bad things in life than there are good things, and that no matter what you do, you find yourself in the same situation as you were before? Such a feeling of pessimism is not uncommon; yet, if you ponder for a few moments, you might suddenly realize that you might have been overlooking some of the good things, such as your continued mental and physical well-being, and, perhaps, your recent medical checkup that was considered to be normal by your doctor, that your faculties are intact, and last, but not least, you are still out there in the midst of the competition, vying with other competitors in life’s endless battle for survival.

Bear in mind that you are not alone in the contest in which decisions might not be in your favor, and that your struggle might continue indefinitely throughout your lifetime. But, as long as you hang in with the rest of the competitors in life’s continuing struggle, there might be a chance that someday you may achieve what you want, or perhaps, never achieve what you may precisely desire.

When you rise from bed in the morning, after a good night’s sleep, you should be pleased that the night was kind and that the rest of the day awaits your entry into yet another prospect of expectation and that you are ready, willing and able to cast the dice once again in the busy and sprawling casino of life.

You can learn a great deal from Nature and its adjustment to the ongoing processes of life.  You can apply the lesson you learn to your own feelings, in order to maintain the equilibrium of mind and body.  When you feel dejected and deprived, from time to time, be thankful that you are breathing normally, and that, in spite of the surge of pessimism that you may sometimes experience,  look at the silver lining in the dark cloud of life’s convoluted microcosm.

As always a well writen article life is not always as it seems but we can always take comfort in the fact that no matter what the situation there is always someone worse off than you and they will also think the same in the end we will all pull through

A very uplifting piece. I am a fairly positive and optimistic person and I realise that I am so lucky to have what I have. There are so many people who are worse off than me. I know it is no use getting depressed if something does not work out the way you want it to. Good work.

I tell everyone, to always “looke on the Bright side of life”, if your alive, breathing, in reasonably good healthy, the rest is an added plus. Your article reflects how I feel and try to pass that along to others.

    Awesome piece
