A great place to find micro niches is at the shopping mall. There is one in every city and town across the country. Consumerism is alive and well no matter what the economy is. Certain things people will buy and spend money on regardless of their current situation.

So go to a mall near you and walk around. What do you notice? besides the large amount of people. Well for starters you notice people carry shopping bags. What is in those bags? I can probably tell you what people are shopping for. But before I do, lets analyze this information and how we can use it to come up with niches to market on the web.

Niche Market Demographics

For instance all those people are shopping for things that are relevant to them at the present moment in their lives. A 20 year old girl will have very different priorities than a 40 year old woman. A 19 year old boy will have different interests than a 50 year old man. A single person will have many activities which will differ from a married person.

So these are the demographics that we want to study, so what are males buying versus females, what are teens interested in buying versus senior citizens. Once you get your finger on the pulse of peoples shopping habits you will know what the majority of consumers are going to do when you get online.

The type of store that people go shop at also plays a big part. So if your walking around the mall and  you notice that one particular store is packed, crowded and is getting tons of people going in and out of it. Then you just found your HOT spot. Go inside and see what they are selling. Analyze why this particular store is more popular than its competitors.

Characteristics of a Hot Spot

Could it be that they have lower prices, are they giving away free items with purchase? Do they have a certain merchandise setup or music playing. What is attracting people to the store?

All these are great things for internet marketers to learn and know about. It will make a difference when it comes to setting up a website or blog. As well as deciding which affiliate network to join.
