I heard about this opinion thousands of times. I heard it since I was a kid.

At once, I thought it was a wise statement. Because all you’re going to do next is let go your loved one, let them reach their happiness even when they’re not with you. And you’re just gonna pray for their happiness. But the main question is, are you really let go of them? Or you would always remember them in one part of your heart?

When I grow up and having more experience in life, especially in love life. I realized something. This statement not a wise statement. But I think it’s a selfish statement. Not just for yourself, but also your loved one, and especially your next partner in love.

We might say, “I would always love you inside my heart”. And maybe, you are doing that. What happen next is, you might forgot that life still go on, and things around you are change. You can’t get stuck in one point. You might meet a lot of people with a lot different character. And you might meet your future partner in life. But what would happen, when that statement still inside your head?

Are you going to keep it in your mind? Are you going to be able truly in love with your next partner? Are you guarantee there would be no affair next? Are you guarantee there would be no one get hurt?

These questions made me think again and again about the statement above. If you put your past inside one of your heart, and still have a special feelings for them, those questions would be answered with a BIG NO…

You can’t divide your heart and give it to two different people in the same time in the same position. You can’t love your ex and your current partner in equal way. There always a difference. And sometimes, people get compare each other, past and present, present and future.

So, when you have to end your love life today, but still have a special feelings for them, you have to loose it right away. Or it might effect you in lots of things in future. I know it won’t be easy today, but it would get harder in next day.

You have to decide, what are you going to loose today? Is it my past or my future? We can’t change the past, no one can’t. But we always able to change our future from our first step today. No one can help you to reach your own happiness, it’s only yourself who you can count on to reach your happiness life now and then.
