Is this my interpretation of true love.
Waiting out in the rain for him, and when he is late, smiling, and saying. ” It doesn’t matter.”
Putting up with his children from a previous relationship, even though they are giving you a hard time.
Smiling politely and making small talk with his ex, even though you know she hates you.
Tolerating his mother, even though she has said he should go back to his wife and children .
Staying in and cooking for him because his wife has bled him dry and he can’t afford to take you out.
Turning a blind eye when he has to go on holiday with her, as the kids would be upset if he didn’t.
Pretending not to care when he explains that he will have to go and visit them on Boxing Day, as they don’t want to visit him, and would be devastated if they didn’t see him.
When your friends try to criticise him, defending him valiantly, and telling them they don’t know him like you do.
Well if that is your idea of love, he’s got it made. Get out while you can, and find yourself a decent single bloke!
