Smells can affect our Moods. A whiff of lavender releases feel-good hormones and makes us happier, the smell of roses lowers blood pressure and a hint of eucalyptus improves alertness.

There are quite a few smells that lift my mood and keep me smiling.

Flowers

I love the smell of Roses and some other flowers.  I only buy those that smell nice. (Not all flowers have a strong scent).

Freshly Baked Bread or Cake

Madre Mia! This is such a lovely smell and even if I have eaten, I would still find space in my tummy for a slice of freshly baked cake.

Essential Oils / Aromatherapy Oil

I love burning Essential Oils. My favourites are Lavender, Lemon, Mandarin and Jasmine. It makes home smell very nice and they it’s healthy too. (Tip: Put a few drops of Lavender on your Pillow before you sleep – It promotes good sleep.)

Lovely Perfumes/Cologne

All ladies love perfumes. My favourites DKNY the lemon fragrance and La Femme Hugo Boss. These are perfumes I use once in the morning and people still ask what perfume I’m wearing later in the day. I also give people a second look, if they walk past me and I get a whiff off a nice smelling perfume/Cologne.

Fresh Laundry

Call me a strange lady, but I like the smell of clothes that have been washed and just dried. Obviously that’s the effect of the nice Conditioners we put in the washing machines.

A little Baby

The smell of a little baby that’s just had a bath and smells of baby lotion, baby powder. Oh they smell so lovely and sweet until they…… …you know. J

KFC / Nandos Chicken

KFC Chicken and Nando’s Chicken are fried / roasted – I hope these are not just in the UK. The Chicken has quite a distinctive taste – secret recipe’s I think.

The Seaside

Have you ever been on holiday and started to stroll towards the sea? Do you remember how it smells? It has such a nice “holiday” smell.

Lovely Smelling Shower/Bath Creams/Lotions

I’m sure all ladies do. I like lovely smelling shower creams and Bubble bath. In my teens, my Dad used to shout outside the bathroom door “Shall I bring a pillow in there for you?”

Translation: “Dear Daughter, please hurry up!”

LadyE…this is a great article…I like it a whole big bunch and voted to say so…I wear a vial of essential aromatherapy oil around my neck all the time…it is my Patchoulli…a little bit is a great stress-relieving sedative, while a healthy dose is a great stimulant…some scents are extremely intoxicating and highly erotic…individual wear is much more pleasant that being bombarded by the blend of fragrances at the perfume counter of a department store…thanks and take care
