So what I just read is not only sick, but it’s disturbing. Delores Gillespie was on her way home from shopping when she stepped out of an elevator at 203 Underhill Ave. in Prospect Heights and was met by a psycho carrying a bottle and a jug of combustible fluid, and a barbecue lighter. The man was caught on camera as he apparently sprayed her with the liquid, threw a Molotov cocktail at her and set the woman on fire. This woman was in her 60s or 70s when she was pronounced dead. Now this is sickening. Someone could actually go and set an old woman on fire. What type of fucking sick people are out in this world? The old woman was also apparently mentally ill and was also extremely paranoid. What type of bullshit goes on in New York?! This happened in Brooklyn, now. New York just seems to keep getting worse and worse each day. I mean yeah, no area is perfect, but New York City is such a beautiful city, and it’s being ruined by all the fucking crimes that go on in the city, and all the crazy people that seem to be running around everywhere. I wouldn’t feel safe outside of the Bronx, and that’s only because I’m known there. That’s my community, and that’s where I grew up. Then again, apparently your neighbors are more likely to hurt you than actual strangers are. I used to get harassed by strangers a lot back when I was in New York; luckily nothing like this ever happened to me. When it happens to other people, it makes me more and more scared to be outside. There was a little boy that got shot right outside my apartment once. He survived, but I mean what’s happening to New York is just crazy. New York used to be a great area, and now it’s turning to shit because of all the drug deals that go on and all the crime and all the gangs and the violence. Don’t get me wrong, the first thing I’m doing when I get out of New Jersey is going back to New York. I love New York, but it’s a bad area especially for people who aren’t from there because there’s a bunch of people now who make the neighborhoods almost impossible to live in because there’s so much crime going on in it. This is sad, and disturbing that this actually happened to someone, and whoever did this should probably be burned alive as well. Just so he could know how it feels.
