What is media’s R E S P O N S I B I L I T Y?
It is good to be reminded once in a while about our role and responsibility to the society we serve. because of fast moving events in our country today, the media tend to overlook what is basically required for them to do PUBLIC SERVICE. since they are accountable for there acts and behavior, they must LOOK BACK and take the STOCK.”
Perhaps it is time that they do so today. many prominent members of their community, both in and out of government, have raised the alarm the past few months over the unhealthy performance of many in mass media.
“media must be responsible enough to police their own ranks of misfits.” if media cannot be held accountable to government, they must be responsible to themselves”.
for the MEDIA:
” freedom is one thing and license is another”.
For when it is very press that media resorts to distortions and outright lies, it betrays society itself, and degrades its role in a democracy.
Let it keep the people informed, but let them be fed with the correct INFORMATION”.
