Makes me revived, rejuvenated and rejoiced always is music.

The one thing which makes me revived, rejuvenated and rejoiced always is music. Whenever I listen to a smooth melodious music, I feel like I’m floating among clouds, or rather in cloud 9. There is melody in the howling of wind, the murmuring of bamboo, humming of birds, cascading torrents in a deep forest.

Music will take me to an unexplored wonderland, always fresh and beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. I can feel an unexplainable enlightenment, a spiritual bliss. There is a magical charm in the seven notes, which enchant you. The more I’m into it, the more I’m graced.

My musical collection varies from light to classical, pop to ghazal, Sufi to film songs; with my 4D scope of languages, I can en joy the wide spectrum of music.

Music is a therapy which cures even diseases, aids in plant growth, and that which is inherited and transferred from generations to generations. Certain ragas which when rendered in specific time of a day or specific season can do wonder and bring prosperity. For example the brilliant musician Miyan Tansen rendered raga Meghmalhar and could bring rain; he could lit a lamp by singing raga Deepak.

Even animals can understand and enjoy music. Many experiments have been conducted towards this, taming wild animals, enhancing growth and productivity of plants/crops.

Music, with all of its facets – physical, emotional, mental, social, aesthetic, and spiritual – helps people to improve or maintain their health. Music affects brain and different studies showed that music therapy can help ward off depression, pain management, to improve mood, reduce anxiety level, to ease muscles. Musical acoustics – vocal or instrumental – can do wonders in divine meditation, to attain ‘nirvana’ (enlightenment) to the final ‘moksha’ (salvation).

Music can effectively distract us, away from day-to-day tensions and turmoil, and thus can give a positive vibe, recharging us back with great vigor.

When I render a ‘bhajan’ (prayer song), before a lit lamp in the evening, with utmost devotion and dedication, I feel the divine bliss of meditation, concentrating on the image of Lord depicted in the song.
