Some tips to get you back to writing with fresh outlook.

Let’s accept it. Writing becomes a burden when we are out of place, out of time and definitely out of our frame of thinking to give it a try. The trouble is when we are out of our mind to be aware what we are doing and force ourselves to write some piece of crap just to survive the blog of the day and indeed, I will understand the extreme necessity (just kidding). But if you wish to write professionally and come up with better topics that may not be so good and not so odd to believe, you may need to give this a try. I will not say you will gain so many comments for a day without weight on how well you have written your article but it will certainly help you write some good posts which will last years that you will value it reading by yourself and be proud of it.

Take a Bath – Well, how many of us begin to write after taking a bath? I presume most of us don’t give a damn as long as they’re in front of the computer. I suppose unless there is an issue of scarcity of water supply in your place, you may take my advice useful. Why? Consider the whole body with the skin pores as an issue. When the pores get clogged by sweat and dirt accumulated over time, your body cooling gets affected and you feel irritated. So how could you think well when you feel itchy and uncomfortable? One more thing, you should try thinking deeper while you’re on the shower. Many of my posts had been conceived while I was taking a bath. It’s not that you will have to compose every lines on your mind as you take a bath but thinking about the title and the introduction will do. Sitting on the toilet bowl will do which reminds me of the modern day “thinker” by Rodin. Just be sure not to slip or you will forget what you’re thinking.

Take a Walk Outdoors – If the bath doesn’t work well and you seem to feel a bit migraine forming in your head because of the pressure of trying hard to think it out, try to go outside. You may take a pen and a piece of paper to write. Imagine life inside your room and everything may have been stale and constricted you hardly had a breath of fresh air outside. Imagine your frame of thinking locked up at such a state of being and once you gave it a break, it could go on its normal function.

Listen to Soothing Music – Music soothes the senses. You only need an exact tune to get you in the right mood for writing. What is more, music tends to bring back memories and once your memories were activated, you could only choose a promising one to write your article. Now I suppose that’s quite enough for some tips. Good luck to writing and discover the rest for yourselves. Indeed it’s a unique experience for everyone to behold.

These are great tips. Suppose, for example, one goes for a walk during a rain shower while listening to music on the I-pod. Good idea. Multi-tasking.

I like your advice, I do some of my best thinking when cleaning my teeth! Taking a walk is good too. It is a question of freeing your mind to allow ideas to come to you.

Great post Will. I find that if I forget about trying to write, give up and go do some pole dancing or something then the ideas just come when my mind is concentrating on something else. I may not be able to write all day then later that evening I can do 3 or 4 pieces. So you are right, just take your mind off the task!

Good advice. I find a walk along the seafront with the sun shining and a light breeze blowing in my face nearly always puts me in the right frame of mind.

Wonderful write Will! All of the above works very well for me! I think very deeply when I am relaxing and find it easier to sort out my thoughts.Walking also does the same for me because I feel at ease with nature and take in everything, from the scents to the landscape that surrounds me. Very enjoyable read as always!

Lucky to say the very rare few times this condition occurred was because I purposefully put off penning that which was affecting me. I write constantly, I am truly addicted. Now its just a matter of getting everything pasted to the appropriate sites and places.
