To my pals on Triond and others who could care less.

Reports of my death have been greatly exagerated.  Somebody else said that….Mark Twain, I think.  In any event I have not posted this month and have been derelict in my commenting duties.

A virus struck many of the computers in my town and there is only one repair shop plus a woman who makes house calls.  Both are giving priority service (for a surcharge) to business owners who really need their computers to conduct commerce.  For the time being they are not repairing PCs such as mine.

I’ve been making a feeble effort to work on this thing myself and early on got my Message Center up and running so I could send/receive emails but until yesterday could not access other sites, including Triond.  Yesterday, I managed to circumvent Windows and sort of backed in to Triond Dashboard from which I went to “Community.”  I was able to pull up a post and submit a comment but was never able to return to “Community.”  Today, I entered the Dashboard and clicked “Submit Content” and after nearly 20 minutes I was presented with the page on which I am typing this missive.

In the meantime, I will endeavor to backtrack and catch up on my commenting as quickly as this thing will allow and will eschew posting anything of my own until I accomplish that.  I noticed while visiting the Dashboard that some of you have left notes in my Inbox.  Sorry to say I am unable to access the Inbox so am unable to respond.

                              Miss you all……………Ken

  • Val Mills on Feb 25, 2010

Glad it was the computer and not you with the virus. How come we’ve let computers take over our world, leaving us to their mercy. Good to see you’ve retained your sense of humour throughout and have managed to sneak a message to the outside world. Forget about the catching up with comments, catch up with putting a smile back on our faces.

  • Val Mills on Feb 25, 2010

If this appears twice, thank Triond for not accepting it the first time! Anyway, glad it was the computer with the virus, not you. Also, good to see you’ve retained your sense of humour throughout and managed to sneak a message to the outside world. I look forward to having you out a smile on my face again as I drink my morning coffee.

  • Lady Sunshine on Feb 25, 2010

Yes, Ken, you were indeed missed. I can relate to having computers that don’t do what you ask them to. I’m glad you are making strides to get back where you belong.

    Be blessed,
    Andrea

  • qasimdharamsy on Feb 26, 2010

    Nice piece…well written….

  • Mark Gordon Brown on Feb 26, 2010

At least you have a better excuse for not being up to date on the comments, mine is only because of writing articles and taking hours to proof read and edit them. At any rate, glad to have you back on board, and that you are okay.

  • deep blue on Feb 28, 2010

That was nice message, mate. I have sort of organized a Ken awareness drive…Say you had been out in the open to hurry for a few bottles of beer on the grocery store one late night while you’re on a sober mood with light clothing on a freezing weather. I’m glad that wasn’t the case and you’re still warm and interactive. You must be happy that you are being missed by the ladies, lol.

  • Daisy Peasblossom on Mar 6, 2010

Yucky! Glad you are well, but sorry your computer is sick. I’ve been dealing with some of this stuff at school, it is no fun at all. Hope it gets fixed soon.

  • pattiann on Apr 15, 2010

Good luck in getting your computer back!
Last month, my daughter got a German virus. Everything that came on the screen was in German! Her German isn’t so great, but she was learning it before, thus, she’ll continue to learn it!

  • Ruby Hawk on Apr 15, 2010

    Another click for you Ken.
