Modesty is the name of the force which prevents a human being from falling into the ditch of indecency, offensiveness and obscenity. In the time of moral disgrace Man does these sins because of a self-regulating and liberated human being in the world. Some time these immoralities are permitted by the government in the right sense and some time mould in the wrapper of goodness. In the world where stealing is not punishable is just to make people upright and responsible by their social attitude and social duty under the guidance of modesty.   The immoralities are in any form like adultery, corruption, tyranny and etc. These moral diseases do not affect the one immoral man but it also affects the society.

One man does it by his own sweet will but other is forced to do so like the case of bribery. Modesty shelters him from irremovable effects of the evils prohibited by the morality. The moral teachings are there to awaken and give confidence to this feeling of modesty in human nature. Our faith to develop and strengthen it until it becomes a part of our mental and physical attitude. It dole out as a strong moral deterrent against all evil and wicked desires. It brings under control man from behaving in an objectionable manner and also acts as a shield against immoralities. Modesty plays a vital role in character building.

Modesty is of fundamental significance in our lives.  The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is reported to have said:

“Every religion has a distinctive quality and the distinctive quality of Islam is modesty”

He (PBUH) also said

“Modesty is a part of faith and faith is in paradise and indecency is from evil and evil is in Hell.”

Faith and modesty are so closely connected to each other that either both will be present in or individual or community or none of the two would be present.

Holy Prophet said;

“Modesty and faith are companions when one is taken away, the other follow it.”

Modesty has been particularly stressed upon as part of faith because it reflects a state of mental piety. When we are mentally pious and sanctimonious no devil or evil will force us to do sin and let us degrade. We should always try to be righteous and virtuous in order to be successful in this world and hereafter.
